Skilla, student

Our student membership will be changed from a percentual payment to a fixed payment from 1 January 2021 onwards. There will be two membership types:

  • Student Pro (membership that includes the membership in the unemployment fund) EUR 96 per year
  • Student Basic (membership that does not include the membership in the unemployment fund) EUR 10 per year

Student Pro (membership that includes the membership in the unemployment fund):

In order to be entitled to earnings-related unemployment allowance, you must meet the membership and employment conditions and you have payed the membership fee from any salary you earned during your studies. Every week, during which you work for at least 18 hours, is taken into account in this respect.

As a Pro member, you can split the payment of your membership fee into four interest-free instalments, which means you pay 24 euros every three months. You can also pay the entire fee all at once. The membership fee of Pro has been calculated to correspond to the amount that an average student membership fee was in 2019.

Please note! If your employer has paid your membership fee in 2020 or before that (payment authorisation), remember to notify your employer to discontinue the collection of a membership fee after 31 December 2020. From the beginning of 2021, the membership fee should be paid by the member.

Student Basic (membership that does not include membership in the unemployment fund):

As a Basic member, you pay your membership fee once a year.

Basic member, please note this!

Please remember that if you face unemployment, you are only entitled to receive earnings-related unemployment allowance if you belong to the unemployment fund.

It is worth joining the unemployment fund while you are still a student.

If you are not employed, your membership is conditional* and is activated on the day you start working and provide us with your employment information. You can join the fund here. Even if your membership is conditional, your membership will change to a Pro membership (€96/year).

*What does a conditional membership of the unemployment fund mean?

Only a person in paid employment can be a member of the unemployment fund. If you are a student and you have no salary income, you can join the unemployment fund as a conditional member. Your actual membership will start on the day you start working and notify us of the start date of your employment, your job title and the name of your employer. A conditional student member of the unemployment fund pays the full Pro membership fee, €96/year, even if they are not employed.
