Paying membership fees

The monthly amount thus remains the same and the amount of the payment does not need to be calculated separately based on a salary receipt. As before, you can pay the membership fee in the Akava Special Branches online platform or in your own bank with the payment details you have received.

If your employer has previously been collecting the membership fee from your salary, you do not need to do anything yourself. However, it is beneficial to verify from the first pay slip of the year that the membership fee has been paid correctly.

If you receive allowance from the fund, you pay the membership fee yourself in the future.

Studentmember without unemployment fund, please note this!

Please remember that if you face unemployment, you are only entitled to receive earnings-related unemployment allowance if you belong to the unemployment fund.

It is worth joining the unemployment fund while you are still a student.

If you are not employed, your membership is conditional* and is activated on the day you start working and provide us with your employment information. Even if your membership is conditional, you will pay €90/year or EUR 7.50/month.

*What does a conditional membership of the unemployment fund mean?

Only a person in paid employment can be a member of the unemployment fund. If you are a student and you have no salary income, you can join the unemployment fund as a conditional member.
