The membership fee invoice sent in January each year
All members paying the membership fee themselves receive a reference number list for the whole year in January. Depending on your membership information, the invoice for the membership fee will be sent either by e-mail or by post.
Are you paying the membership fee yourself?
Please always use a reference number when paying the membership fee. Please note! Do not write any messages in the message field of the invoice. They will not be forwarded.
Members paying their membership fees themselves get a so-called member reference number. It will remain the same as long as the membership fee is paid on time.
Membership fee reference number
You can find the reference number for the membership fee on the front page of the online service. The reference number remains the same.
If you pay several months’ fee at once, pay via online service or order a reference here.
If necessary, the number can be checked with the reference calculator below. Enter your membership number in the field.
Where can I find my member number?
- In the Akava Special Branches mobile application/on the membership card
- in the latest newsletter
- in the online service
Please note that the easiest way to pay the membership fee is to save it as a monthly payment in your online banking service using the member reference number.
Calculate the size of your percentage-based membership fee
When calculating the size of your percentage-based membership fee, you can use the calculator below.
All member associations with a percentage-based membership fee have a certain minimum membership fee. Check your membership association page on payment information how much the minimum membership fee is.
The membership fee is paid in arrears. The due date depends on the payment period.
The membership fee is paid monthly in arrears. The due date is always the 5th day of the next month – for example, the due date for January’s fee is 5 February.
The due dates for the annual and quarterly payments are included in the invoice and payment instructions you have received.
If your membership fee payment is more than two weeks overdue
i.e. you are paying the fee after the 19th, you need to order a separate reference number or pay your membership fee through the Akava Special Branches Member Online Service, where you can create a new reference number for the timeframe of your choice.
If you want to pay the membership fee for several months in one go, you can order a new reference number here or pay all of the fees for the period of your choice by using the e-service.
Is your employer paying the membership fee on your behalf?
If you pay the full regular membership fee, you can authorise your employer to pay the membership fee on your behalf. Save and fill in the authorisation and send it to your employer.
The membership fee is paid for full months only
When you join Akava Special Branches, you will pay a membership fee from the beginning of the first full month after joining. There is no fee for the month in which you join.
If you resign from Akava Special Branches, the membership fee must be paid for the full month in which you resign your membership.
If your membership category changes, your membership fee is determined on the basis of your situation on the first day of the month. This means, for example, that if you are on family leave until 15 January and return to work on 16 January, the amount of your membership fee for January is the same as during your family leave. On 5 March, you pay the standard full membership fee for February.
