General collective agreement for municipal personnel

We represent approximately 5,000 employees in the service of municipalities and federations of municipalities, who work in specialist and supervisory positions in administration and culture.

Our members are within scope of the general collective agreement for municipal personnel (KVTES).

Our members are represented in negotiations by the Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals JUKO, in which we work for fair terms of employment and fair pay in the occupations we represent.

The employer party to the collective agreement is Local Government and County Employers KT.

You can influence the development of your collective agreement and our negotiation goals through your member organisation. In Akava Special Branches, lobbying in the municipal sector is coordinated by the municipal sector advisory board, in which the member organisations have representation.

In the municipal sector, our members are organised into several different member organisations. Our largest professional groups in this sector are:

• specialists, supervisors and managers in cultural services who work in libraries, museums, cultural departments, youth services and sports services
• specialists, planners, researchers, project staff, supervisors and managers in administrative services, communications and the field of languages
