Collective agreements
Collective agreements
Trade unions protect your rights in working life. Unions negotiate on important questions on your behalf; fair pay, working hours, days off, equality, occupational safety and occupational health care.
Many of the important reforms in working life come from the work of trade unions. These include the four-week summer holiday and the earnings-related unemployment benefit. Our most recent achievements include paid family leave, the partial reform of the Non-Discrimination Act and a pay programme that brings significant pay increases in municipalities and the wellbeing services counties.
Agreements negotiated by unions guarantee working conditions that exceed statutory requirements. Often, people think that the rights to certain benefits are statutory when, in fact, they are provided by collective agreements. A good example is the holiday bonus.
“We work to achieve pay increases, better well-being at work, more equality in working life and stronger unemployment security for the members of our member organisations.”
