Akava Special Branches is made up of 19 independent member organisations with a total of approximately 25,000 individual members. The members are part of Akava Special Branches through their own member organisation.
The union’s highest decision-making body is the Union Meeting, which comprises representatives appointed by the member organisations; it meets twice a year.
The Board serves as the executive body under the Union Meeting and is responsible for the union’s operations.
The bodies under the Board are responsible for the preparation and development of labour market lobbying in their own sectors.
The union’s office serves the members in Länsi-Pasila, Helsinki. The union’s operative actions are led by the Executive Director.
